FROM HIGH DESERT TO LOWCOUNTRY
HANDMADE
POTTERY & TILE
ABOUT US
From the wild west to the oyster beds, Comstock Pottery designs are hand-built stoneware, made in American. Functional pottery and tile surround us in all American life; and when made by hand, define our surroundings.

Comstock Pottery, for Nancy the ceramic artist, it's all about preserving traditional tile making and wheel throwing techniques.
The "low country" lingers somewhat between a rain forest and a desert. Wide canopies of pines and live oaks, draped with spanish moss, reveal vibrant culture and rich history. There is personal beauty to pottery which evolves from a slab of clay to a local finished product.

One slows down in the south. Summertime heats the quiet breezes while reliable tides beckon a jug of tall tea and amazing cuisine of oyster, crab and low country boils. Local clay is rich grey like just like the color of drying oyster beds, an inspiration for making the folk-art style pottery that we love.
