We are hand building functional pottery and tile products made here in Nevada. Our clay is handmade in California using local materials. We slow fire each piece in a kiln at 2285 degrees which makes the clay very durable for kitchen use. Each piece is made individually, not production made, thus they are all somewhat different in size and color. The colors change with each firing, making each dish beautifully personal. Stoneware contains grog which are small bits of sand. Sometimes these pieces are not entire smooth when fired. It is important to be careful when using pottery on highly polished tables or furniture to assure that you don’t accidently scratch your tables. Pottery will break if it is transferred from the freezer to a hot oven. It may also break on an open flame or on a stove burner. Garden pots may break during freezing temperatures and should be brought inside during winter. Our pottery is coated with food safe glazes and are easily cleaned in the dishwasher. I am using the kitchenware pottery in the microwave and oven at home. I find that the redware clay gets much hotter to touch in both the microwave and oven than the sandstone color clay requiring a little extra care in handling. Our tiles are easily cleaned with normal cleaning solutions. For me, kitchen white vinegar is the best tile cleaner for our handmade tiles and bathroom fixtures. I prefer this and baking soda over commercial cleaners.

All the pieces that we list on line are individually made. Although similar, there is never an exact copy and we hope that you will love each piece knowing that there is not another one like it. We offer store credits for returns. We do not offer refunds. If you are unhappy with your piece, please let me know. If you would prefer something different, I’ll try to remake a replacement for you. It is important that you are happy with your pottery or tile since they will probably last for years and years. Please let us know within 14 days of purchase if you have a problem with any of our products. For special orders or custom work of pottery and tile we cannot offer refunds or exchanges.

Our on-line items indicate the weight of the item with packaging. We are using the local post office here in Carson City, NV for shipping. The price of the items on our web site include shipping, but not tax.

We make many custom items. Tiles are great for kitchen and bathroom use either as an entire wall or backsplash, or simply mixing individual tiles with other commercial tiles. We can make these in specific colors or patterns to match your individual and creative decorating ideas. Handmade tiles add a warm and personal touch to your home that are unlike anything made commercially. Feel free to email us with your ideas and we can provide you with an estimated cost and time frame for completion. Tile sizes are three, four, six inch square and subway sizes with varying patterns and color combinations. We are hand painting the horses and deer on many of the kitchenware pieces. If you would like to special order a water pitcher, teapot set, or other kitchen ware, you can let us know the color and design you would like on your item. It takes about 6 weeks to make an order depending on the size, complexity and quantity.
